Matt Bibeault

Senior Solar Consultant

Background:

After graduating from Woonsocket High School, Matt Bibeault began his college career as a physics major. He followed a new career plan and received his degree from Johnson and Wales University in Culinary Arts. Later, he worked in the food service industry for over 30 years, for a handful of companies, in various positions, including serving as a Restaurant Manager, Banquet Chef, Executive Chef, Director of Catering Operations, and Corporate Chef.

As a Corporate Chef, he was responsible for purchasing all food and supplies for a nine-unit chain restaurant company. In this position, he came to recognize the importance of relationships between trusted suppliers and customers. He also saw that different suppliers excelled in different niches and always availed himself of the most advantageous deals possible while maintaining these relationships.

Due to illness, Matt left the industry several years ago and joined Rhode Island Solar Solutions before joining Sun Nerds Solar NE.

Interests:

Matt enjoys spending time with his children, entertaining family, and friends, and recently started woodworking too! He loves the outdoors, as in his younger days, he was an avid backpacker. When he made a career change, his love of the outdoors, the environment, and his background in science helped lead him to the solar industry.

About:

Matt is a lifelong resident of Rhode Island, where he raised his two children with his wife Ann. He considers himself a very family-oriented person and enjoys his weekly Sunday dinners with his extended family too!

Why Matt joined Sun Nerds Solar NE?

Drawing on his knowledge as a buyer, as well as his experience as a salesperson for a solar company, Matt realized that every company has a niche that they excel in. He further realized that he could better serve customers if he represented more than one choice.

He is of the view that, as a team member of Sun Nerds Solar NE, he has the ability to offer more than one choice to his customers and lead them to a developer/installer that fits their needs best. This also enables him to get competitive pricing for customers because of his buying power. Sun Nerds Solar NE brings much more business to a developer/installer than a customer ever will. As a result, in addition to very competitive pricing, the business also enjoys more responsiveness from its developers/installers than typical customers might.

Why Burkley Weilburg Joined Sun Nerds Solar NE?

He has always enjoyed sales, as long as he feels he can truly believe in and stand behind what he sells. It needs to be a representation of what he stands for. He also feels he would be incapable of selling something that doesn’t benefit all parties involved.

Solar makes sense environmentally and financially. It allows him a way to make a difference in the world while providing for his family too! He has now been in the industry for over seven years and landed here at Sun Nerds Solar NE because of the innovative solar broker business model.

While at RGS Energy, he felt as though he could serve clients better if he had more options for them. His experience working with several different top-quality, heavily vetted installation companies, allows him to do just that! Burkley now feels he can truly custom-fit every client and home with the best solar system for the site.
